Now this baby was so good that I decided to enter it into A Latte with Ott, A’s Iron Chef Challenge that is being sponsored this month by King Arthur Flour. The kind people there were nice enough to give me a free bag of their all purposed flour to whip this yumminess up.
To start, you should boil up 8 oz of macaroni.
Ya see at my house, the rice cooker just serves as a bigger microcooker… don’t worry, I pay it overtime
Meanwhile in a big ole skillet near you, melt up 1 T of butter.
Once they are cooked up, go grab that flour.
Take 2 T and gradually add it to the onions and stir until smooth.
Now add 1 1/2 cups milk and 1/2 of chicken gradually, stirring constantly
And add in the seasoning: Salt, Pepper and 1/2 t thyme
When makin’ gravy like substances, I like to put all my seasoning in a prep bowls to keep me from running around and messin’ around and burnin’ the gravy.
gravy sauce thickens, add them seasonings in…
Add in 4 cups of cubed chicken
1 cup frozen peas- thawed
Add 8 slices of crispy bacon– I used turkey bacon, but you can use the pork variety if ya want to
And 1 cup shredded cheese
Now mix ‘er up
Now transfer that yumminess to a casserole dish, or if your skillet is oven proof, just keep it there.
Dude, why do more dishes if you don’t have to!
Oh and ya Freeze-O-Rama mamas out there will want to stop and chill at this point
Now, when you are ready to bake this baby up, go take 1 T butter and sit it outside for 2.1 seconds so it melts… or if you prefer, melt it the traditional way, ya know, in the microwave
Mix it up with 1 cup bread crumbs and then sprinkle them on top of your casserole.
Now bake it up at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Yummy ooey, gooey, GOODEness!
