Dear Reader,
I have been wanting to share this beyond-awesome recipe with you for some time, but life has been getting in the way… until now.
Despite my life-time aversion to the salad world (which I have been working on), we so love this salad… so much so that we are having it for dinner again tonight.
You can find the recipe in 101 Soups, Salads & Sandwiches ( or the Kindle Version).
I started by “grilling” my steak in a broiler.
While it rested, I arranged my lettuce in our bowls. We used a Butter Bliss Lettuce mix.
We were out of red onions, so I chopped up a shallot to add to the greens.
I then sliced up two pears and added them.
Now, I am usually anti fruit in my salad, but trust me, this sooo works in this salad.
I then sliced up my steak and added it to each salad.
Now throw on a little crumbled blue cheese…
And drizzle on your homemade Red Wine Vinaigrette…
Fancy, super difficult?
Nah…
Just mix 1 part red wine vinegar with 2 parts Extra Virgin Olive Oil… add a little lemon juice if desired… some honey if you want it a little sweeter.
Add salt and pepper
And 1/2 T dried Tarragon Leaves (or 1 T fresh).
Mix up and drizzle on.
My man carnivore completely enjoyed this meal! He says it is one of the best dishes I have ever made… sounds like a keeper to me!
(The carnivore and the recipe ;)).

Mmmm yum. Ok, except for the cheese. I might have to switch it out for some goat or feta. Maybe I should make a salad soon. Like tomorrow. 🙂
