Dear Reader-
I am so excited about this new year.
Year 2 Change gives me the confidence to know that nothing I want to change is too tough to tackle when I put my mind to it.
Which is a GOODe thing… since I have all kinds of big plans for this year.
To set the tone for this year, I have taken a cue from the internets and decided to choose a word this year: Focused.
Year 2 Change has been focus in action.
It is time for me to put my professional planning and facilitation skills into action in my personal life.
I am a big thinker. So much to do. So many ideas. But just like I help clients focus down conversations and projects to make their ideas a reality, I need to do that for myself… daily.
I chose focused because I want to be fully present where I am.
Social media is so amazingly powerful, but it can also be extremely distracting if I don’t keep it in check.
Being focused will help me be deliberate, intentional and balanced– ideally being more strategic and effective with this limited resource we call time
.
So what do I want to focus on?
Losing Weight
Our Year 2 Change goal of losing the weight for GOODe is still a top priority in this house.
Planning
Planning out my days is the biggest new-ish change I want to make. When I spend time each day intentionally planning out my day, I am oh-so more productive. I simply can’t imagine the productivity of an entire year if I truly focus on being deliberate everyday in my work, blog and personal life.
Spiritually
Spiritually I am tackling two challenges.
First, I am taking my church’s challenge to read the New Testament together in a year. If I haven’t shared before
My church rocks. However, I have attempted the whole bible in a year programs many, many times and fail right around the book of Numbers. So, I am very excited to do a challenge that focuses only on the New Testament this year. My small group is taking the challenge together- accountability, check! And the awesome thing is that my (uber-awesome-wonderful) church launched a free app to help keep me… wait for it… focused
Secondly, I am joining some awesome friends of mine in 2013 Siesta Scripture Memory Team. I haven’t memorized scripture since I was a child. And, frankly, all of the great bible apps have made me a little lazy in this area, so I am very much looking forward to getting my Word on
Exercise
In the exercise department, I have decided to tackle 10K steps a day. I have been working up to this goal for months and I am ready to tackle it.
Family
Personal wise, I want to be more focused with my time with Mike and Addie. Regular date nights and Mommy-Daughter dates are going to be priorities in 2013.
Whew… that sounds like a lot! But, you should have seen the original list I trimmed down to this! Do you have a word or plans for the new year? Do tell!
