Have you guys seen these little do-dads?
Truth be told when I saw ” The Pot Minder” in the store and its promise to “keep pots from boiling over,” I was a weee bit skeptical.
Could it really be that easy?
All those years of hearing that sound of the pot boiling over and rushing over to limit the damage (and amount of work to clean everything up) could have been avoided?!?!
Really?
So, I bit the bullet and decided to give it a try.
Dude.
It soooo worked!
Turns out, Wikipedia already knew this…
Where have I been?
Have you guys known this all along and just been holdin’ out on me?

I too am skeptical, my grand daughter has these in her school fund raiser catalog maybe I should go grab the order sheet and add one more item 🙂

Yea, I’ve known about them. My momma has one and used it. She liked it but kept forgetting to use it. Hmmm..maybe I should “borrow” hers.

I once saw an episode of Martha Stewart where she showed how to prevent boil overs by simply placing a wooden spoon across the top of the pot. I’ve been doing that ever since (even if I place the lid back on top so it’s balanced with the spoon in place) and it works every time. I have no idea why, but it has saved me about 9287398472 times now since I routinely make pasta dishes and boil them over every. single. time. lol

I’ve had a glass one for years.
I never seem to use it, because mine gets a bit noisy when the water bubbles.
It makes me nuts.
