I have always loved Easter.
Always.
Just ask Cris. I have annoyed the tar out of her for years. Before Miss Add joined our family, I refused to quit hunting Easter Eggs. We didn’t have any small children in the family and we couldn’t just let a year pass without an Easter Egg Hunt! I have always enjoyed being a kid at heart and just a tidbit nostalgic at times, so I couldn’t see why we shouldn’t continue the tradition.
Now Cris did find a way to have fun with this…she went from a hunter to a hider. She took great joy in hiding those eggs so stinkin’ well that it took a team of people to find them! And so started The Benefiel Ultimate Egg Hunt tradition! There may have been some pushing, shoving and general blood shed in this new and improved egg hunt, but there was also team work! Like the time my cousin had to lift me up so I could reach the last egg that was on top of the air conditioner and could only bee seen by standing on the hill across from it and only be reached by being lifted at least a few feet off of the ground…thank you Cris!
After the egg hunt was always the time for peeling and eating the hard boiled eggs and time for dessert! My sweet tooth rejoiced as I had so many options to choose from. A little of this and a little of that…swoon. So, I have rounded up some great recipes that will satisfy your sweet tooth’s need for variety!
First up is a recipe that caused The Great Cake Pan Hunt of 2010, but was oh so worth it! Amanda’s Cookin’ will show you how to make this super cute Checkerboard Cake for Easter.
Angie from The Country Chic Cottage has you covered for a super cute, super fast dessert that anyone could make (even those that are craft challenged) and kids will love! Chocolate Covered Peeps! Genius!
How about some cute little bunny tails? Over at Bubbly Nature Creations Rachel will show you just how to make these adorable little treats.
Next up Jen from Tater Tots & Jello has combined two of my absolute favorite flavors, lemon and raspberry! Yummy! Check out her Lemon Whoopie Pies with Fresh Raspberry Filling.
And last, but most definitely not least is this awesome craft/dessert! Seriously, how cute are these Cheesecake Carrots from Beth at Hungry Happenings?! You will definitely be able to get the kids to eat these carrots! 🙂
So what special treats are you whipping up for Easter?
