The Phone I Can’t Quit

Dear Reader-

Verizon recently sent me the Samsung Galaxy S3 to test for a while. Given how much I adored my old Galaxy 2, it is no surprise that this phone felt just like home to me. I love its design and function. It feels very natural and intuitive to me.

I am a huge Samsung fan… everything from my TV to my computer and even my refrigerator are all Samsung products. And mobile technology is no different. My tablet and point and shoot camera are both Samsung Galaxy products.

So, I have been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy S3 since it came out (and I am anxiously awaiting the S4).

I loved it.

I have been using the Droid Razr Maxx HD that Verizon sent me for Year 2 Change exclusively for the last several months and I didn’t realize how much I missed my galaxy until testing the S3.

As one of my girlfriends said recently when we were comparing the phones, Galaxy just feels more like a woman’s phone. And, I can’t put my finger on as to why, but I totally agree!

But.

And it bums me out there is a but…

But, there is one draw back to the Galaxy when compared to the Razr Maxx HD…

Battery life.

I am an uber-user and can suck a Galaxy battery dry before noon. Please know normal use would never do this, it is me… it really is. I stream music, use my map feature and facebook/instagram/tweet all at the same time.

I used to be a pro at lugging around cords and could beat the quickest geek to the draw when getting my phone to an outlet plugin.

But, truth be told,the Razr Maxx has totally ruined me… I have never (NEVER) ran the battery out on it.

Not. Once.

And now I am all whiny and stuff when it comes to the thought of having to worry about battery life again.

But then again, the Galaxy is one of the only android phones that syncs automatically with my Fitbit One…

I loved this feature while testing the Galaxy. It served as the sync for my Fitbit, which is far more convenient than how other devices just give me the stats from my computer sync, which tends to not be current when away from the computer.

So now I am torn as I try to pick a phone to purchase this fall. Do I pick battery-life over design and makes-me-happy-oh-so-happy factors?

One solution I am eyeing is a battery-pack extender for the Galaxy…

That may just give me the best of both worlds.
