Aunt Lou here.

The fall after Michael and I started dating Cris made these yummy Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Buns for us one time when we were up visiting. So, in my mind, they are on my “perfect fall foods” list. And with little Miss Iyla’s arrival coming in less than a month, (eek!) I knew that this recipe would be perfect to freeze up to have on hand when this Momma is gonna be in some desperate need of easy meals that I love and adore.

I actually froze it up in two bags so that I could have it multiple times. With dividing this recipe in two, we ate about 6 sandwiches off one pack. Ryder loved it so much that he had to have his own FULL SIZE sandwich both times we had it…and he ate it all. I don’t know where he puts it!

This was SOOO stinkin’ easy…which is my favorite kind of recipe!

Label your bags with the date and recipe name.

Place 3 chicken breasts in each bag.

Sprinkle a generous amount of season salt in each bag.

Pour a generous 1/2 cup of bbq sauce in each bag.

Press out all the air in each bag in seal.

Lay flat in your freezer and freeze.

When you are ready to cook, thaw overnight or in a water bath, place freezer pack contents in slow cooker for 5-6 hours on low.

OR

Place freezer pack contents in slow cooker frozen, cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours.

Place your cooked chicken in a large bowl and shred with two forks.

Serve shredded chicken on a bun with a drizzle of BBQ sauce and ranch dressing.
