A holiday tune I’m working on:
Tablets and smartphones and chargers that travel
Wireless headphones, no cords to unravel
Watches so smart that they’re more than just bling
These are a few of my favorite things!!!

Dear Reader,
Do you remember as a kid when the Christmas catalogs would come and you would spend hours pouring over all of the cool new toys that were coming out? I would even go as far as cutting out the pictures of the toys and “practice” playing with them so I would be prepared when Santa dropped the real thing down the chimney. Well, I get to do that again as an adult! Cris has asked me to give you a list of a few of my favorite things that Verizon has in their toy catalog online catalog. Some of these gadgets I have even got to try out thanks to Michelle at Verizon!
Smartphones
We have tested both of these and both are pure awesomesauce! I really liked the style and usability of the S4, but Cris has turned me on to the stylus feature that comes with the Note. As a guy who transposes quite a bit of music, it makes for quick work on this little gadget!
Fitness
When we were introduced to the Fitbit there was only one option. It was their version 1.0 and although it was extremely accurate it wasn’t waterproof and if someone were clumsy (like yours truly) it was easy to lose. The newer options are much better. Cris uses the One and I use the flex. She keeps hers in her bra. Since I don’t normally wear a bra I like and use the Flex. The wristband makes in practically hard to lose and it’s water resistant. Both are great in tracking your activity levels, step counts, distance traveled and flights of stairs climbed each day. I would love to try out the Force for its real time display so you don’t have to sync it and check your smartphone for your reults.
Headphones
I use the Motorola S 11 headset every time I hit they gym. No wires means I won’t have the fear of hanging myself while lifting as well as snagging the wire on something and jerking the earphone out. The sound is clear and loud and the S11 syncs with the Bluetooth on my smartphone so I can jam to my own tunes. I can also take calls with them!
I haven’t tried the Beats Wireless headphones, but what feller that listens and records music constantly wouldn’t want a pair??? (Honey, if you read this, this is a hint…)
Miscellaneous Tech
Cris and I use this camera CONSTANTLY! It takes great pics as well as great video with awesome sound quality. After you take your media you can edit it IN the camera and then upload it directly to your favorite social media site, kinda like I did here:
I see Cris use this little gadget almost as much as her laptop! I’ve played with it a few times myself and love the easy interface!
This little baby is cool!!! You can plug anything into it and use your smartphone to turn it on! Whether you want to turn your lights on before you get in the house or just have some music playing your favorite jam when you come in the door, this cool little doohicky can help you out!
I can’t really say that I NEED this AR drone, but I want it! Every man has a little kid inside of him that wants to fly things…
And finally, the piece de resistance, the Mona Lisa of tech, the grand finale of all the gadgets I want for Christmas…
The Smartwatch industry is just starting to boom and when I saw this tech art on their catalog my heart went boom along with it! I watched Knight Rider as a kid and always talked into my watch like it was a phone. Well, if I had the Galaxy GEAR smartwatch I wouldn’t look like such an idiot in public, now would I??? It also has a built in camera and guess what else it does…IT TELLS TIME!!! Technology is getting more amazing every day!
Well, there you have it folks, my Christmas Wishlist. Feel free to let my wife know which things YOU think I should get this year (i.e. all of them). I’m sure she’ll appreciate the info, I know I will!
Thanks again to Michelle at Verizon for giving us the opportunity to try out some of the latest tech! All opinions (and obsessions) are my own.
