Is finding fun plus sized clothing a struggle for you like it is for me? Each week I am sharing daily dose of my journey to finding clothes I love. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Cris here.
I so appreciated all your wonderful notes and comments from week one of this project. I have to admit, week two was more difficult to keep up with. This summer has been crazy and some days it is hard to put yourself together when you don’t feel put together at all- ha! BUT I did notice when I took the time to spend just a few minutes before walking out the door I felt so much better. So, for that I am very grateful I committed to this project because every little bit helps!
Outfit of the Day Week 2 – Plus Size Clothing
Sunday
I got a rough start to the weekend because right out of the gate I had a migraine. But true to my commitment I snapped a pic anyhow. I love this comfy wrap dress from eShakti. I love how eShakti lets you customize all kinds of things on their dresses, but they can be a little on the pricey side. When I first signed up for their emails they sent me a $25 off coupon and that helped a lot, but since then I haven’t seen any really good discounts yet, but I am definitely keeping my eye out for them because I LOVE the two dresses I have from them.
- Wrap Dress with Wide -V – eShakti
- Teva Sandals -Amazon
- Mickey Hat- Disney World
Monday
I was feeling MUCH better on Monday and decided to grab this comfy Calvin Klein dress to keep cool in the summer heat. Mikey teased that it looked like I was getting ready to go play tennis… that is hilarious considering how uncoordinated I am on the tennis court! Ha!
- Blue and White Calvin Klein Dress – Dressbarn
- Belt- Kohls
- White Canvas Sperrys – Amazon
Tuesday
I had a million and one things to do on Tuesday (including another trip to the grocery store). I found a pair of “distressed” jeans that didn’t break the bank. With my birthday coupon from Torrid, they only came to $12 in fact! I figured that was a much more reasonable price to test out this look than the $89 jeans I tried on the other day. I paired them with a super light weight blouse I got from TJ Maxx that just so happened to match a pair of shoes I’ve had in my closet for years. I am loving rediscovering how pieces I already have can play into an outfit for a new look.
- Orange and White Blouse- TJ Maxx
- Distressed Boyfriend Jeans- Torrid
- Orange Sperrys- Amazon
- Speak Life Necklace- Amazon
- Earrings- Kohls
- Sunglasses- Amazon
- Fossil Messenger Bag – Amazon
Wednesday
On Wednesday Miss Add and I headed to Aunt Lou’s for the day. She spent the day in the pool with her cousins while Aunt Lou and I worked. This light weight dress was much cooler than my jeans poolside and my hat kept the sun out of my eyes.
- Blue City Chic Dress and Belt – Dia and Co.
- Gladiator Sandals and Hat- Kohls
- Speak Life Necklace- Amazon
- Hoops- Walmart
Thursday
On Thursday I had online meetings, conference calls and errands to run so I tried out a kimono that I found at Walmart for $10 with the new jeans.
- Black and White Kimono – Walmart
- Black T-Shirt – TJ Maxx
- Distressed Boyfriend Jeans – Torrid
- White Canvas Sperrys – Amazon
- Ps 51:10 Necklace – Vintage Pearl (Gift)
- Earrings- Unknown (I’ve had forever.)
Friday
I had lots of work in the morning before heading out to bible study and a playdate on Friday. So I threw on my most favorite tank from Dia & Co. with a pair of capri pants they sent me that I also adore. Cute comfort!
- Black Tank and Capri Pants – Dia & Co.
- Teva Sandals- Amazon
- Side Cross Necklace- Amazon
- Hoop Earrings- Walmart
Saturday
On Saturday we hopped in the car for a family get-together. We were going to be indoors and outdoors so I chose to wear my newly altered dress from Dia & Co with a light weight button-up over it for layers when indoors.
- Dark Denim City Chic Dress – Dia & Co
- Poppy Print Button Up- TJ Maxx
- White Canvas Sperrys – Amazon
- Hat- Target (several years ago)
- “I am loved” bracelet – Gift
- Silver & Gold Earrings- Gift
- Speak Life Necklace- Amazon
What I Learned This Week
- I am having fun looking at ways to work in items I already own.
- With my ankles a achin’ from last week I laid off all my wedges this week. I went to my closet and dug out some of my tried and true shoes and found that I could pair them with outfits for different looks.
- My Dia & Co pieces are still some of my favorite pieces in my closet. Which is good I guess since they are also some of the priciest.

Just like last week you look great in everything. That dark denim dress is so cute! But, I especially love your Thursday outfit. I don’t care much for distressed jeans, but that kimono pulls the outfit together perfectly. I have a pair of capri jeans I’m going to use to try putting this one together for myself. 😀

I like your Saturday outfit. It was casual and looked great with the accessories that you added. Made you look cute as a bug. This could be dressed up for church or a Summer wedding. Also liked your Tuesday, Thursday and Friday outfits. They looked really good. These were my favorites, hope it helped. Keep shopping

Hi Chris, Love your outfits you are adorable! I don’t blame you for not wanting to spend that much on jeans I don’t ever. My go to store for jeans is Old Navy when they are on sale are $12.00-$16.00 and I’m in the plus size category myself. Love you’re recipes, we just had the hot pastrami sandwiches OMG so good. Have a fabulous rest of your week.
Cris says
I haven’t tried Old Navy before… I will have to give it a look. Thanks!
