The Cat Distribution System dealt us a doozy last month…
I was minding my own business– truth be told–vacuuming up PET HAIR no less– when this little guy came jaunting into my life…
With FOUR siblings…
They were all super clean and frankly look like they had just been dropped off.
Growing up on a farm I am very familiar with adorable barn kittens, and these guys were not barn kittens.
ALL of them were super friendly and grateful for the chow.
The trouble was… they also all were WAYYY too close to a very busy and dangerous road.
Not to mention our backyard that we have rewilded is chock full of predators.
Foxes, possums and I am sure from the sounds of things coyotes visit our land regularly… Oh and did I mention we have caught bob cats on our property cameras TWICE???
And these little–formerly indoor– babes had ZERO street smarts.
So we got busy finding homes for them…
In a few short days, we found forever homes for two of the kittens. (Grey and Sly)
And then Aunt Lou adopted Luna…
And my daughter decided to adopt Pewter…
Meanwhile I decided to adopt Bootsie… the original brave little guy that walked right up to me and saved them all.
I call him my little Greenhouse Panther.
I guess the Cat Distribution System knows what it is doing after all…
