Dear Reader-
The technology that is available at our fingertips never ceases to amaze me.
Verizon recently sent me the MOTOACTV device for a try…
Man.
Remember how I went out and bought one of the other things they sent me?
As I FedExed it back to them yesterday, I am having a hard time NOT doing the same thing here…
This is a MP3 player, fitness tracker (think uber -suped up pedometer) AND fitness app all in one with an accessory line that blows my mind…
You can use it with a heart rate monitor and bike sensor… Dude!
And all that data… calories, steps, performance, gps… tracks it all and stores it for you in your online account.
I found myself wearing it all day… AND I found myself motivated to move more generally through the day to up those numbers.
Oh and it uses all its data crunching genius to figure out which songs on your playlist help you perform better… giving you the option to choose them as a performance playlist!
Sick of taking your phone on your run?
I always try to tuck mine in my… ahem… sports bra, but it doesn’t always um… stay put.
With this gizmoo there is no need to bring your phone. You can pair the MOTOACTV with your phone and receive texts and social media updates… not to mention weather updates.
Truth be told, this gadget loving mama had been eyeing the FitBit a while back, but if and when I take the fitness gadget plunge, I am thinking the MOTOACTV is more bang for my buck.
Do you track your fitness efforts?
What works for you?

That is beyond cool. I’ve been looking/thinking about getting a Garmin GPS watch for my newly discovered running habits. Right now I typically run a track 8-10 times which is 1.1 miles per round. It does get boring and I hope to venture off course but need mileage calculator vs. time etc. This seems perfect.
